About the Item
This pendant was created in 1920 ca. It is made out of sterling silver. Within an outer frame set with marcasites and decorated at the edge with mille griffe we see a round bevelled plaque of frosted glass mounted in a silver frame with mille griffe decoration on the edge. In the centre of the glass we see a round two coloured agate cameo of a male head wearing a laurel wreath in profile. The cameo is mounted in silver within a frame also set with marcasites. All the edges are executed in mille griffe. The original eyelet is also set with marcasites. The pendant is marked on the reverse of the outer frame 935 for sterling silver. There is an impressed makers mark so far unidentifiable.
