About the Item
This antique locket from the Art Nouveau era (circa 1900–1910) features a finely modeled 10k gold lion accented with two glittering diamonds. The lion, a symbol of strength, courage, and protection, was a favored motif in turn-of-the-century jewelry, embodying both artistry and symbolism characteristic of the era. The reverse of the locket bears the engraved initials “WHH”, adding a personal touch and a glimpse into its history.
The piece measures 1.4 inches from the top of the bail to the base by 1.1 inches across and weighs 9.55 grams. The gold content has been verified through XRF (x-ray fluorescence) analysis and traditional jeweler’s acid testing, confirming purity and integrity.
In fair condition; however, there are some tiny indentations on the reverse.
