About the Item
This is an antique 19th century rose cut diamond pendant which can also be worn as a brooch. This oval-shaped brooch pendant is created with many bright rose cut diamonds set in a second grade silver and gold frame. The diamonds are placed throughout the brooch set in a silver mounting, mille griffe work is created on the openwork rim. The back of the pendant is made of 14 karat gold and so is the pin closure which is attached in a later period to the pendant. The lovely design of the pendant is reminiscent of a blooming flower.
It is amazing the way the light reflects and refracts through the diamonds throughout the pendant, creating sparkle and brilliance. This antique rose cut diamond pendant dates from circa 1890's.
The pendant is in very good condition and of high quality. The size is 2.2 x 2.2 centimeters and weighs 9.7 grams. Stamped with the Dutch silver sword hallmark which stands for 835, also known as 2nd grade silver. And the oak leaf quality mark, which stands for 14 karat gold.
