About the Item
An Edwardian seed pearl, and yellow gold necklace, comprising seventy-nine seed pearls, set in 15 karat yellow gold, with a 15 karat yellow gold chain.
This elegant necklace is designed to be incredibly wearable. The necklace section can be worn alone, or with the pendant attached (offering a day-to-night ensemble). The pendant can also be detached and worn separately as a brooch. The necklace has a rolo link chain, which fastens with a sturdy box clasp. The pearl set section of the necklace is articulated to allow it to move with you and sit perfectly against you. The articulated section has a central 5-petalled flower, set with seed pearls of various sizes, with a button shaped pearl at the centre. Pearl-set foliate motifs and single bezel set pearls form the rest of the articulated section. A hook fastening at the back of the central flower allows the brooch / pendant to be attached by the way of a hinged loop. The brooch has a quatrefoil design, with a central daisy motif, accented by 5-petalled flowers and 4 seed pearl set arms. The brooch is complete with a yellow gold pin and fittings. The necklace is in excellent condition. Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
The brooch measures 30mm long, 30mm wide, and 7mm deep (excluding pin and fittings).
The 5-petalled flower measures 17.5mm long, 16.5mm wide, and 5.3mm deep.
The pearl set section of the necklace measures 97mm wide when laid flat.
