About the Item
An antique diamond, pearl, platinum, and yellow gold pendant, comprising two old European cut diamonds, four old single cut diamonds, and eighteen rose cut diamonds, in platinum and 15 karat yellow gold.
My favourite thing about this Antique Yellow Gold and Platinum Pearl and Diamond Pendant is the sparkling diamonds. What’s yours? Perhaps the shimmering pearl? Or the elegant design?
This graceful Edwardian pendant is set with an old European cut diamond, held within a platinum, millegrain edged, bezel setting. Below, a bow is suspended, set with 1 old single cut diamond and rose cut diamonds to the ‘ears’ of the bow. A teardrop shape, set similarly with old single cut and rose cut diamonds is suspended from the bow, with a pearl and diamond set dropper at the centre. The pearl is pale and lustrous, and a delicate button shape. Finally, an old European cut diamond, held within a platinum, millegrain edged, bezel setting is suspended. The old European cut diamonds are bright, white, sparkly and well-matched with one another. The rose cut diamonds add a soft glitter. The pendant is fully articulated, allowing it to rest perfectly against the décolletage. The pendant is backed in yellow gold and is complete with a yellow gold bale. The pendant is in good condition, and was likely converted to a pendant from an earring, or from a larger piece of jewellery (though the work is not recent). Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
