We are delighted to offer this splendid antique Edwardian 9ct gold amethyst seed pearl necklace c.1910. Stylistically elegant and charming, this pendant features an Art Nouveau design with naturalistic motifs of foliate scrolls, each section embellished with seed pearls of tapering size. The central faceted amethyst contrasts the overall soft gold tone and immediately captivates the eye towards the centre of the piece. The pendant is split into three sections with the top bail and teardrop freely moving from the central portion, allowing it to be worn comfortably whilst displaying the gemstones in all manner of angles. This design truly comes to life and can be most appreciated upon wearing in natural lighting with movement. A (non-gold) pin is present on the rear of the pendant meaning that it could also be worn as a pin/brooch depending on your preference or attire on the day. A wonderful piece of fine Edwardian jewellery whether it be a special gift or for a personal collection, this pendant would make for a perfect addition for the antique jewellery and amethyst lover. Amethyst is known to be the birthstone for Februarypearls for June. The pendant has a 9ct hallmark on the back but is worn and as such we have fully tested for 9ct gold.
