About the Item
This Georgian pendant has been handcrafted out of 14K yellow and rose gold towards the end of the 18th century. It is designed as a stylized flower with twelve flower petals. Each petal is set with a flat cut round garnet. All garnets are in closed settings. The centre of the locket has a round glass compartment covered with its original bevelled glass. The glass can be opened by gently lifting it with a small knife. There are some minor dents on the reverse of the jewel - the overall condition for this over 200 year old jewel is good. Two garnets show light scratches on the surface and one on the low edge of a stone. The original glass shows some minor scratches. The scratches on the inside of the locket are old testing marks. The locket is not marked but is tested for 14K.
