About the Item
This stunning and unusual Victorian necklace collar was originally intended to be worn with a locket and is a so called collar. It comes with a detachable segment from which a locket would have been suspended. However, in modern times it can be worn as a necklace. The geometric design is typical for the high Victorian taste. Large and small hoops are decorated with a diagonal grooved design. Twelve large hoops are entwined with three elongated ovals of smooth appearance, the elongated oval in the centre connects the large hoop to three smaller hoops that in turn are again connected to a larger circle by a large elongated oval. The elongated ovals have a polished surface. A hoop with parallel grooves is wound around the three elongated ovals.
