THIS IS A STUNNING AND RARE ANTIQUE VICTORIAN FIRE OPAL, OLD MINE CUT DIAMOND AND NATURAL PEARL PENDANT OR BROOCH IN 14 KARAT GOLD. THE STUNNING PENDANT HAS THREE OF THE MOST GORGEOUS NATURAL ROUND CABOCHON OPALS WITH VIVID BLUE, GREEN, YELLOW AND ORANGE FIRE. THE JEWEL IS FURTHER SET WITH A SPARKLING ANTIQUE OLD MINE CUT DIAMOND. IN THE CENTER IS A FABULOUS NATURAL BAROQUE PEARL. THE SCROLLING BORDER IS SET THROUGHOUT WITH LOVELY GRADUATED SEED PEARLS. THE JEWEL HAS AN ARTICULATED BALE THAT CAN BE RAISED OR LOWERED SO IT CAN BE WORN AS A PENDANT OR AS A BROOCH. THE JEWEL DATES TO CIRCA 1860-1900.
It is rare to find the early Victorian jewels set with opals and here we have one with gorgeous vivid colorful opals. These opals sparkle with blue, green, yellow, and orange fire. The Old Mine Cut Diamond is radiant. The natural pearl gives the jewel the unique nature inspired element that is so coveted today. The pendant creates a delightful antique nature inspired jewel which dances wonderfully around the neck or when worn as a treasured brooch.
The pendant/brooch is 27mm (1 inch) wide, and is 20mm tall.
