A fine antique Victorian mourning pendant for a necklace.
In 14 karat yellow gold.
In the form of a converted pocket watch pendant.
With strands of hair behind a bezel-set glass circle.
Marked to the reverse with a black enamel ring that reads 'IN MEMORY OF'.
In the Georgian and Victorian eras, hair art was used to memorialize a departed loved one or given as a keepsake memorial for a loved one in their absence.
Simply a wonderful piece of Victorian mourning jewelry!
