About the Item
This Victorian round locket is a beautifully crafted example of late 19th-century sentimental jewellery. Made in warm 9ct rose gold, its softly domed circular form is decorated with finely engraved scrolling foliate detail, framed by a delicate patterned border. The engraving shows careful hand-cut work, with flowing curves and textured shading that catch the light as the locket moves.
The locket is crafted in 9ct rose gold back and front, meaning both the front and reverse panels are solid gold, while the internal framework is constructed from a stronger base metal for durability. This traditional Victorian technique allowed lockets to retain the appearance and feel of solid gold while remaining lightweight and practical for everyday wear.
