About the Item
This is a gorgeous 14 Karat Gold Victorian - Belle Epoque Picture Locket pendant in an Etruscan Revival Design of great beauty. The locket has the most stunning warm brushed 14 Karat Gold work with fantastic raised beaded cannetille designs with rope and braid motifs. The Etruscan jewels are characterized by exquisite hand applied micro beading and this locket is a masterpiece of the technique. The locket has a beautiful beaded bail. The locket is a perfect size - 1 7/8 inches long. It opens to reveal the photo compartment with place for 2 photos. The original photo inserts and the covering for the photos are present on both sides which is rare. The perfect picture locket dates to circa 1860.
The locket is in excellent condition. It opens and closes securely.
The locket is 1 7/8 inches long (48mm) including the bales. Without the bales the locket is 1 1/4 inches (32mm) long by 1 inch (26mm) wide.
The locket weighs 14.4 grams.
