The Details...
This necklace features gilded metal bicone beads. Along its length, in sets of 3, are faceted round glass beads in shades of pink, green and blue. Suspended from the necklace, from a gilded metal filigree capping, is a faceted, teardrop shaped, pink glass pendant. The necklace measures 70cm in length and the pendant has a drop of 7cm. The pendant is 2.5cm wide.

Glass has been a prevalent feature of costume pieces since the invention of fashion jewellery. It's extremely suitable for meeting the ever challenging and changing demands of costume jewellery designers because it's an easily accessible material that can be formed into any shape and dyed any colour. This necklace was created in Czechoslovakia - the high quality of the glass and the necklace's design are typical of Czech jewellery.
