About the Item
An Art Deco diamond, diamond, sapphire, platinum, white gold pendant necklace, comprising nine transitional cut diamonds, and four calibre cut sapphires, set in platinum, with an 18 karat white gold chain.
This elegant pendant is set with a transitional cut diamond (the precursor to the modern round brilliant cut diamond) held within an octagonal platinum setting, with millegrain edging. The diamond is bright, white, and wonderfully sparkly, with lovely clarity, cut, and colour. A pair of smaller bezel-set diamonds are set below the largest diamond, creating a sparkling drop. A geometric diamond shaped motif terminates the pendant drop, set with 6 sparkling diamonds, and 4 calibre cut sapphires. The way this geometric motif is created, it appears as if the piece is 3D. The sapphires are well-matched with one another, cut to a rhombus shape, the diamonds are bright, white, sparkly, and well-matched with one another. The pendant is suspended on an integral white gold chain, complete with a spring ring clasp. The necklace is in good condition, with an old solder repair visible at the back of the pendant, which cannot be seen when worn. Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
