The brooch has been modelled in the form of a winged insect. The impressive wings are embellished with an array of mixed cut garnets, in a curvilinear graduating array to the outer margins. The fluted portion of each wing is further embellished with nine pavé set Old European cut diamonds. The wings conjoin with the insect's thorax, comprised of an impressive collet set mixed cut garnet.
