This is a gorgeous Antique Art Deco - Victorian Pendant Necklace or Brooch set with the most wonderful sparkling blood red Bohemian Garnets in a target motif in three concentric circle designs which each dangle independently from the fabulous garnet set bale. I love how the three circles dangle freely and move within the pendant. The red Bohemian garnets are full of radiant sparkle and life. They are fabulous large cut natural mined garnet gems. The Art Deco target motif is just magnificent.
The true beauty of these garnets is difficult to photograph.
I believe the pendant is 8 to 9 Carat Gold; however, it may gold-filled. The Garnet pendant is a delicate romantic jewel full of the romance of the Art Deco period. It has a pin stem to be worn as a brooch if desired. The pendant dates to circa 1870-1910.
Garnets
The vivid blood red color of Garnets has symbolized love and devotion through the ages. Garnets also signify protection, friendship, and trust and garnets are also said to keep the wearer safe during travel.
The pendant is 1 3/4 inches (43mm) tall and is 1 1/2 inches (36mm) wide.
The pendant is 8-9 Carat Gold or possibly gold filled.
The three garnet hoops hang freely and independently and move beautifully when worn.
