THIS IS A WONDERFUL AND VERY RARE MUSEUM QUALITY ORIGINAL ART DECO PENDANT NECKLACE WITH AN EXTRAORDINARY FLOWER MOTIF ROCK CRYSTAL PENDANT SET WITH STERLING SILVER AND MARCASITES IN A STERLING SILVER SURMOUNT WITH A MARCASITE SET BALE. THE PENDANT HANGS FROM ITS ORIGINAL STERLING SILVER LONG CHAIN WHICH IS SET THROUGHOUT WITH ROCK CRYSTAL AND PEARLS. THE PENDANT NECKLACE DATES TO CIRCA 1900-1930.
This extraordinary pendant necklace has spectacular Art Deco design. It is very rare to find original art deco necklaces of this quality. The stunning large pendant is rock crystal and is inset with a sterling silver flower motif design set with marcasites. The pendant has beautiful faceted scalloped edges. At the top is an elegant surmount in sterling silver. This is adorned with marcasites. The elegance and refinement of this pendant create a jewel worthy of a fine museum collection. Possibly more beautiful is the extraordinary chain. The chain is sterling silver and attaches to the pendant with a jump ring. So you may wear the chain alone or with whichever pendant you desire. The chain is 32 inches (80 cm) long! The chain is set throughout with rock crystal rondelles and lovely pearls. These pearls may very well be natural. This is an extraordinarily beautiful and rare Art Deco Chain. The necklace is from Germany and dates to around the turn of the last century. The combination of the pendant and the fabulous chain create an Art Deco masterpiece of a necklace!
The pendant is 2 1/2 inches (6.5 cm) long including the bales. It is 1 3/8 inches (35mm) wide.
The chain is 32 inches (80 cm) long.
Some of the pearls may be missing from the chain as not every rock crystal rondelle has pearls on either side.
The bale is hallmarked Sterling Germany.
