Edwardian enameled purple Pansy flower pendant-brooch.
Beautiful Pansy flower, created in Newark United States during the Edwardian and the Art Nouveau periods, back in the 1900. This beautiful convertible pendant-brooch has been carefully crafted in solid yellow gold of 14 karats with polished finish and embellished with applications of non glossy powder enamel with a color gradations of purples, yellow and white. The enamel work is exceptional and meticulous, far exceeding the details of the fibers and veins of the leaves. It is a little jewel with exquisite and exceptional details, Pansies symbolize a hope that love should not be forgotten. Fitted at the reverse with a horizontal hinged pin bar and a mechanical lock to wear as a brooch and a round kook to wear in a chain or a necklace as a pendant.
Diamond: Mount in the center in a four-prongs setting, with 1 old European rose cut diamond of about 0.15 carats, white colorless F/G color, VS/SI clarity.
Weight: 7.72 Grams (4.95 Dwt).
Measurements: 26 mm by 27 mm by 6 mm (1.02 x 1.06 x 0.24 Inches).
Hallmarks: Unmarked but electronically tested for 14kt gold, (.585/.999 Au).
The Edwardian Jewelry
This Period was during the King Edward VII, after whom this period of jewelry history is named, reigned over England for only nine years, yet the style of jewelry known as “Edwardian” was created roughly between 1890 and 1920. Edwardian-era rings tend to be larger, opulent pieces, and stacked ring designs were popular. The metal surfaces of the rings were often diamond-encrusted for additional shimmer. Each of these rings is a work of art, showcasing a bygone era of grace, elegance and the royalty the Edwardian era is named for.
