About the Item
A gorgeous French pendant from the Art Nouveau (ca1910s) era! This lovely piece is crafted in 18k yellow gold and features the wonderful repousse image of a woman's side profile. The woman, who resembles a celestial goddess, is shown to be wearing large hoop earrings and a lovely crown. Her wavy hair is held within a half-up half-down hairstyle, and she is shown in flowing garments. The background of the repousse image shows a crescent moon, swirling clouds, and a few small stars. The woman is seated next to a lyre. The image is surrounded by a border comprised of rubies and diamonds. The channel-set rubies, which are calibrated, display a lovey vivid red hue and have an approximate total carat weight of 1.50ctw. The diamonds, which are all bead-set rose cuts, have an approximate total carat weight of .50ctw. The top of the piece features an attached bail, which would allow the pendant to attach to a favorite gold chain. The backside of the piece features a monogram which reads: "MJ". An alluring piece, this pendant would be perfect for any Art Nouveau-era jewelry lover!
Measurements: The pendant has a diameter of 1 1/4" and measures 1 1/2" long (including the complementary bail).
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. There is no damage to the gold setting or bail, and all of the stones are secure and intact.
