THIS IS A GORGEOUS VICTORIAN - ART NOUVEAU PENDANT NECKLACE WITH A BEAUTIFUL GREEN ENAMEL ORCHID FLOWER WITH AN OLD MINE CUT DIAMOND IN THE CENTER. THE FLOWER IS SET IN AN ELEGANT GOLD RIBBON SURROUND WITH LOVELY ART NOUVEAU DESIGN. THE PENDANT NECKLACE IS 14 KARAT YELLOW GOLD. THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ENAMEL FLOWER JEWELS WE HAVE SEEN. THE FLOWER IS BEAUTIFULLY RENDERED WITH GREAT DETAIL IN THE ENAMEL WORK ON EACH PETAL. THE PETALS HAVE WONDERFUL NATURALISTIC FORM AND ARE FULLY THREE DIMENSIONAL. THE COMBINATION OF THE ELEGANT FLOWER WITH THE OLD MINE CUT DIAMOND CENTER AND THE GOLD RIBBON SURROUND IS EXQUISITE. THE NECKLACE IS SO FULL OF ROMANCE AND THE DELIGHTS OF NATURE. THE PENDANT DATES TO CIRCA 1860-1910
The necklace is 16 inches long.
The pendant is 1 1/8 inches (28mm) wide and it is 7/8 inch (21mm) tall.
The necklace is 14 Karat Gold.
The reverse of the pendant has its original hook at the bottom from which you may add a pendant drop if desired. This is original to the piece. Nothing is missing from the pendant. During the Victorian period it was common for pieces to have such hooks so you could adorn the jewel if desired.
There are few tiny flecks off of the enamel towards the bottom. We have left the piece in its original period condition.
