About the Item
Genuine azurite gemstone. This pendant was hand fabricated out of the finest sterling silver bezel material. People are always surprised to learn that our bezels are all hand done by starting with a strip of sterling silver. The azurite is very bright with molten colors of turquoise, green, and black. This gemstone was hand polished to its beautiful shape and size and has had no artificial fillings or polymers added.
Azurite’s distinctive, intense blue color makes it a popular collector’s stone. Azurite has been known since ancient times, and was mentioned in Pliny the Elder's Natural History under the Greek name kuanos and the Latin name caeruleum. Since antiquity, azurite's exceptionally deep and clear blue has been associated with low-humidity desert and winter skies.
We have paired this lovely gemstone with a handmade sterling cable chain that has a texture on it that has an organic feel to it.
