INDULGE IN A STUNNING ANTIQUE EMERALD, PEARL AND ENAMEL BELLE EPOQUE - ART NOUVEAU FLOWER MOTIF PENDANT IN 14 KARAT GOLD WITH A FORGET-ME-NOT FLOWER ADORNED WITH PEARL PETALS AND EMERALD CENTER AND BUDS. THE ANTIQUE PENDANT DATES TO CIRCA 1850-1890.
The exquisite pendant has a fabulous three dimensional forget-me-not flower in the center. The flower has gorgeous pearl petals, and a round faceted emerald center. The flower has three additional emeralds as the buds of the flower and the leaves are all adorned with green enamel. Surrounding the flower is a scrolling acanthus leaf design in gold with a white enamel border.
The top and bottom of the pendant are adorned with bow and garland open work designs in gold. The bail is adorned with black enamel.
Forget-Me-Not Flower
The flower's name suggests its most traditional meaning, which is to remember loved ones and lost ones, as well as special moments shared with them. In Victorian times, forget-me-nots were often given as tokens of enduring love and remembrance. Forget-me-nots also symbolize true love and devotion, and lovers often wear them as a token of everlasting affection.
This is one of the most beautiful antique Belle Epoque - Art Nouveau pendants we have seen and flower and nature inspired jewels are rare and are all the rage today. The quality of the very fine Belle Epoque design is superb. The beautiful emerald gems add such a touch of radiance to the jewel. The pendant embodies classic timeless elegance.
