About the Item
An Orthodox icon medal from the 17th century.
The main center piece of this pendant, is an antique late 17th century archeological Byzantine Orthodox Icon square medal. This antique medal was found in the city of Novgorod in Russia and was sand-casted in solid copper back in the, circa 1680-1740. The central Icon is specially adapted in a custom-made square frame, masterfully crafted in solid 18 karats vermeil on sterling silver and embellished with eighty-three sparkling antique rose cut round diamonds. The mounting permit to see both sides of the icon medal.
Diamonds: Mounted in flush settings, with 83 antique round cut diamonds, with a total weight of 1.24 carats. Mixed SI/I clarity.
Weight: 10.2 Grams, (6.55 Dwt).
Measurements: 48 mm by 30 mm (1.89 x 1.18 Inches).

Collateral: This Orthodox Icon medal pendant is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box and the copy of the historical book about these types of religious ancient artifacts.
Condition: The overall condition of this Orthodox Icon medal pendant is excellent. Besides the little normal wear, there is no damage to any part. The 83 diamonds are secured in their settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
