A sculptural pendant-brooch designed by Haroldo Burle Marx.
This is a beautiful pendant-brooch created in Brazil by the artist-jeweler Haroldo Burle Marx during the modernist period, back in the 1960's. This piece is very colorful and was carefully crafted with concretism artistic patterns in solid yellow gold of 18 karats and finished with Florentine etching. The piece is embellished with a great assortment of natural earth mined Brazilian gemstones, such; a purple-amethyst, a pink-tourmaline, a green-tourmaline, a vivid blue aquamarine and a deep red tourmaline. This is a piece of wearable art and a very nice example of the Brazilian concretism art, which have an obvious collaboration between three big names of the Brazilian arts; Haroldo Burle Marx (1911-1991) the designer and jeweler with galleries in Brazil and Washington DC., Bruno Guidi the master chief goldsmith and lead designer of Burle Marx and finally Roberto Burle Marx (1909-1994), Haroldo's brother, designer and a landscape architect.

Gemstones: Mounted in bezel settings, with 5 graduated oval cabochon cuts carved from natural Brazilian gemstones, such; purple amethyst, pink tourmaline, green tourmaline, blue aquamarine and a red tourmaline. All of them with a combined weight of about 6.50 carats.
Weight: 19.50 grams (12.55 Dwt,).
Measurements: 51 mm by 30 mm by 11 mm (2.01 by 1.18 x 0.44 Inches).
Hallmarks: Stamped at back with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay and warranty of the 18kt yellow and signed as follows, "BURLE MARX .750 GB704".
Collateral: This Burle Marx pendant-brooch is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box.
Condition: The overall condition of this Burle Marx cocktail ring is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. The 5 gemstones are secured in the settings. This piece was carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
