About the Item
Intricately carved by a master lapidary artist, this natural and untreated Burmese jadeite jade carved pendant depicts a cabbage; long symbolic for purity.
This gorgeous carving was created from a single piece of natural and untreated Burmese jadeite jade that is light purple and light green. The lapidary artist incorporated these colors into the carving and the effect is magnificent.
There is a 22k solid yellow gold wire bail that you can thread with a silk cord or chain to wear the pendant now; or you can have your own jeweler design a more substantial bail if you choose.
Based on the high polish, I believe this pendant dates to the 1970s or thereabouts. Jadeite which was carved prior to the 1950s has a different texture under the microscope because of the more antiquated techniques deployed in the carving process.
This spectacular, substantial pendant ships with a certificate from Stone Group Labs stating that the jade is natural and untreated jadeite from Burma (Myanmar).
