Edwardian flower pendant-brooch designed by Crane
Theurer.
Beautiful pendant-brooch, created in America during the Edwardian and the Art Nouveau periods, back in the 1905. This versatile piece has been designed by the jewelry company of Crane
Theurer in the shape of a pansy flower. The piece was carefully crafted in solid yellow gold of 14 karats with polished finish and embellished with applications of non-glossy vivid purple enamel. It is fitted at the reverse with a horizontal hinged pin bar with a mechanical lock to wear as a brooch and a ring to wear in a chain as a pendant. The enamel work is exceptional and meticulous, far exceeding the details of the fibers and veins of the leaves. It is a little jewel with exquisite and exceptional details, Pansies flowers symbolize a hope that love should not be forgotten.
Diamond: Mount in the center in a four-prongs setting, with 1 old European round cut diamond of 0.15 carats, white colorless F/G color, SI clarity.
Weight: 15.95 Grams (10.22 Dwt).
Measurements: 36 mm by 36 mm by 9 mm (1.42 x 1.42 x 0.36 Inches).
Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's monogram mark associated to Crane
Theurer, the mark for the assay of the 14kt gold.

Theurer
The company was established in 1895 in Newark, New Jersey, when they set up as manufacturers of jewelry under their own name. The company existed until the beginning of World War II. They produced jewelry of good quality and one of a kind. Their maker’s mark was a T with a C crossing, the T's downstroke. They were located at the 13-15 Franklin St. in Newark NJ and moved in 1906 to the 68 Orchard St. in Newark NJ.
The Edwardian Jewelry
This period was during the King Edward VII, after whom this period of jewelry history is named, reigned over England for only nine years, yet the style of jewelry known as “Edwardian” was created roughly between 1890 and 1920. Edwardian-era rings tend to be larger, opulent pieces, and stacked ring designs were popular. The metal surfaces of the rings were often diamond-encrusted for additional shimmer. Each of these rings is a work of art, showcasing a bygone era of grace, elegance and the royalty the Edwardian era is named for.
