About the Item
A classic design motif from the Edwardian era, this 14k gold pendant has flowing lines and delicate work. In the center, a natural sapphire with a gorgeous shade of blue is prong set with six talon prongs. It is surrounded by a symmetrical design with cascading lines that are embellished with seed pearls. Three Mississippi River pearls, elongated and organic in shape, dangle at the bottom of the pendant. At the top, the original bail is adorned with a bead set pearl and is incorporated into the pendant’s design. The antique gold has a beautiful patina and the pendant has lovely movement. A handmade piece circa 1910. It hangs from a delicate 14k gold Italian belcher link chain.
The natural antique sapphire measures 6 x 4.5 mm. The largest of the natural antique Mississippi River pearls measures 5.6 x 4.5 mm. The natural antique seed pearls range in size from 1.25 - 2.5 mm.
The pendant measures 1.5” x .75”. The chain is 16”. Combined, the pendant and chain weigh 3.45 grams. The pendant is unmarked; the chain is marked 14k and Italy.
