About the Item
Details:
Edwardian Belle Époque diamond pendant/brooch from the early 1900's. There is a count of 50 diamonds, the largest being 5mm and 1/2 carat. There are 5 large bezel set Old European Cut diamonds and the balance are bead set and bezel set rose cut diamonds. Mille grain work on all edges is meticulously finished. The center five diamonds move independently of the surround. A very pretty piece in excellent condition. This piece comes with an appraisal.
The gold pendant tests at 18K and the 16" chain is 14K gold. The pin is marked 750 for 18K. The front of the pendant is white gold to show off the diamonds and the reverse of the pendant including the pin and clasp is yellow gold. Both clasps work well; the chain's spring clasp as well as the rollover clasp of the brooch. Total weight is 9.9 grams. The pendant alone is 8.9 grams. The pendant measures 1 3/8" wide X 1 2/8" tall. One (1) vintage platinum topped eighteen karat yellow gold* diamond pendant/brooch with contemporary chain. Bezel set in a Fleur de Lis design is one (1) European cut diamond, measuring 5.0 mm, weighing approximately 0.50 carat with H color and SI1 clarity, and four (4) European cut diamonds, measuring 3.3 – 3.5 mm, weighing approximately 0.56 carat combined total weight with G-H-I color and VS2 - SI1 clarity.
Pave set in a mill grain border, are forty-five (45) rose cut diamonds, measuring 1.0 – 2.5 mm, weighing approximately 0.75 carat combined total weight with G-H-I color and VS2 - SI1 clarity. The pendant is suspended from a fourteen karat yellow gold Singapore chain measuring 16-inches long and 1.1 mm wide, 9.9 grams.
*Note: The pendant/brooch is yellow gold plated over white gold.
