A Scarab with seal set as a pendant in 21K gold. This ancient scarab from Egypt is from the 1st Century BC. This Egyptian scarab is made from faience or baked glass and is set beautifully in 21 K gold. The scarab was sacred to Egyptian culture and had an enormous scope of use and symbolism. This particular scarab piece was likely used as a politician or magistrate's seal because of the inscriptions carved into its underside. Measurements: 9/16"W x 1/4"D x 1 1/8"H
