About the Item
Emilia "Mimi" Castillo is the daughter of Antonio Castillo and a member of one of the founding families of Taxco, the silver producing center of Mexico. She learned from the best of the best in the workshop of Antonio Castillo. In the early years of her jewelry design work she signed her pieces with her nickname, Mimi. This necklace dates to that early part of her career. When she started to design Tableware, which was retailed by Neiman Marcus in the US she switched to her given name of Emilia.
This necklace is sterling silver with blush pink enamel over sterling Calla Lilies. The center of the flower is a gold toned pistil, and the leaves match the color of the lily. There are 7 sets of flowers and leaves and a sterling chain completes the back of the necklace. It is in excellent condition with very minor wear from use. The necklace is 18" long.
