About the Item
Diamond maltese cross composed of 4 fancy tapered baguette cut diamonds and a small rectangular cut diamond. Resting on a platinum chain, this platinum maltese cross has an estimated 2.5 cts of fancy cut diamonds, bezel set so that one only see the fancy diamonds. These diamonds are estimated to be near colorless (H/J) and very slightly included to the first degree (VS1). The platinum chain is also vintage and is finished with a fine diamond barrel shaped clasp set with 30 small old cut white diamonds. The chain is 15 inches in length and weighs 108 grams. This cross can be purchased without the platinum and diamond chain at a lower price, please inquire.
The cross bears a five digit number, 28540. However, we cannot determine the original designer of the piece. Including the bale, the cross measures approximately 1 inch in length, thus the necklace hangs down approximately 16 inches. Circa 1960.

Unless stated otherwise, or stated exactly; all weights and grades are approximated by our Gemologist using both GIA Instruments as well as instruments used as a standard and accepted practice. Also, all metals are approximated within 1%. This allows for the legal tolerance in the jewelry industry. For example, 14K signifies 58.3% gold, jewelers can legally label a piece as 14K as long as it is above 13K, or 54.2%.
