About the Item
This magnificent Renaissance Revival suffragette pendant is a masterpiece by the renowned Giuliano firm. A delicate balance of artistry and meaning, the design centers a fancy cut Rose de France amethyst of stunning light violet hue. Set in a trophy-shaped mount, a form symbolizing triumph, the jewel is further adorned with verdant green guilloché enamel, a pearl drop and sparkling rose cut diamond accents. Suffragette jewelry used the colors purple for dignity, white for purity and green for hope—each chosen to represent the values and aspirations of the women's suffrage movement. To wear a jewel like this during the Victorian and Edwardian eras was a subtle but unmistakable act of solidarity and a refined rebellion wrapped in beauty. Set in 14K rose gold and silver. Complete with an 18K yellow gold chain.
The Giuliano firm, known for its refined enamel work and revivalist style, was celebrated for its Renaissance-inspired lozenge-shaped pendants. This pendant is a quintessential example of the firm’s signature aesthetic. Carlo Giuliano (1831–1895) was a master Italian goldsmith who moved to London and rose to prominence for his exquisitely detailed work. He may have apprenticed under Augusto Castellani. After his retirement, his sons Carlo and Arthur Giuliano continued the family legacy, producing designs of exceptional craftsmanship like this well into the Edwardian era. Works by the renowned firm are incredibly rare on the market today.

Located in New Orleans, LA
Crafted by the legendary Tiffany & Co., this enchanting necklace is a rare and unique masterpiece of early 20th-century American jewelry design. Delicately handcrafted, the one-of-a-kind creation is set with two stunning examples of Kashmir sapphires weighing 5.65 and 4.60 respectively. These gemstones are certified by the American Gemological Laboratories as Kashmir in origin and completely untreated, an extreme rarity for Kashmirs. Dozens of sparkling white diamond accents complement the brilliant blue stones in a romantic, winding 18K yellow gold setting.
These incredible sapphires would have been sourced by George Frederick Kunz, Tiffany & Co.'s expert gemologist, who selected only the finest gemstones for the firm's unique creations. The sapphires in this necklace are truly superior examples. Kashmir sapphires were first unearthed in the early 1880s after a landslide in the northwestern region of the Indian subcontinent. They are celebrated not only for their rarity, but also for the softness of their distinctive blue hue. Boasting incredible color and brilliance, untreated Kashmir sapphires of this quality are scarce, especially within an antique Tiffany setting.
Since the firm's inception in 1837, Tiffany & Co. has been at the forefront of luxurious design and craftsmanship, especially in the realm of fine jewelry. Founder Charles Lewis Tiffany...

Renaissance Cameo Pendant
Located in New Orleans, LA
The cameo at the center of this exceptional pendant is a stunning example of the art of gem engraving during the Renaissance. It likely dates to the early 17th century and features a sacrificial scene inspired by the Greco-Roman era. The central flaming altar is flanked by two figures preparing to sacrifice a ram, while a figure in a lion skin blowing horns stands in the left corner. The carver brilliantly uses the natural layers of the stone to achieve the illusion of shadow and musculature on the figures. A second, smaller cameo is set at the top of the pendant, while a myriad of multi-colored gems, pearls and enamel adorns the 18K gold setting. A large Baroque pearl suspended from an enamel dragon finishes the design, which embodies the opulence and theatricality of jewels from the Renaissance age.
Cameos and intaglios were highly popular amongst wealthy connoisseurs in Renaissance Italy, and owning the finest pieces was the privilege of princes. Although they were often elaborately mounted for display alone, cameos were also frequently worn as pendants, surrounded by enameled and stone-set gold frames. Such pieces were particularly prized by the Medici and Lorraine families, many of which can now be seen at the National Archeological Museum in Florence.
Very few Renaissance cameos...
