About the Item
Eytan's "Peperomia" pendant -- a little cascade of succulent leaves that he's used in various lengths for several years -- tops a glorious gold South Sea pearl and makes for a striking pendant, especially when paired with a double strand of deep rich green tourmaline beads.
The leaves are 18 karat gold, hand finished throughout, with a hidden bale on the back and a little loop on the bottom for the pearl.
The pearl is from our trusted pearl dealer, George Hajjar of Seven Seas Pearls, with offices in Los Angeles and Japan. Mr. Hajjar only sells Akoya, South Sea and Tahitian pearls -- no freshwater, no creepy treatments, and nothing from China -- so we always know we're getting the genuine article.
This particular pearl is a gorgeous 14mm baroque drop in lustrous pale-to-medium gold. There are a couple of pits near the neck, but they are not discolored and they're oriented toward the back. The skin is otherwise smooth and shiny; this is a lovely, high-quality pearl.
The necklace is made up of untreated faceted 2mm tourmaline beads on two strands of equal length. The necklace has an adjustor ring so you can wear it at a 16" or 18" length. (Note that the pendant is removable, so you can mix and match.*) The clasp is a cool little vintage mini dog clip in 14 karat gold.
The pendant is 55mm (2-18") long and weighs 8.8 grams. The pearl weighs 1.12 momme (4.2 grams).
The necklace weighs 15.6 grams.
