About the Item
A Silver Hemi-drachm coin minted at Ionia, Teos, Circa 370-340 BC. This ancient Silver Hemi-drachm is 13 mm wide, and weighs 1.53 grams without the 18 karat gold trim. There is a fabulous decorative flat trim with orbs around the perimeter of the coin; giving the Griffin a truly spectacular framing. On the obverse side, is a Griffin seated and facing the right, with its left forepaw raised. On the reverse side, is "THI - [Ε]ΥΔ-HMO[Σ]" of Kantharos. There is a small dig on the reverse side, otherwise, this coin is considered "Very Fine". This coin has been inspected and approved to be authentic by a professional Numismatic who specializes in ancient coinage. A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany this coin. This is an artisan made custom piece - Unique and one of a kind!

Ancient Roman Republic 1st Century BC Griffin Coin Diamond 18K Gold Pendant
By Steven Battelle
Located in Soquel, CA
An interesting, authentic, silver denarius coin from the period of the Roman Republic in 79 BCE, featuring a griffin leaping, is set in a Steven Battelle ancient inspired handmade matte-finish textured bezel mount with 1.8mm VS1 diamond accent. The denarius was approximately the daily wage of a soldier in ancient Rome. This particular type of coin is known as a denarius serratus. The ragged edges of the coin are intentional (all coins of this type have them) to show that coin is pure silver. The minting of the coins was an annual office shared by 3 men, and they often placed the family name on the coins. This coin was minted by moneyer L. Papius, who was probably from Lanuvium, which was about 19 miles outside of Rome. The reverse side of the coin displays...
