About the Item
This delightful and one-of-a-kind pendant is rather like a tassel made of 18K white gold and imperial jade; the elongated free-form cabochons of glassy green jade dangle freely, as do the diamonds suspended from the jade. The result is a pendant that is always in motion, moving as you move, always catching the light from every angle. I've photographed the pendant in various lighting so you can see how magnificent it looks 100% of time time.
This is as fine as jade can be: rich emerald green, as translucent as glass. It is among the rarest and most valuable of all gems. Imperial jade such as this is never dark; it is always green: even when there is just a sliver of light in the room, the jadeite glows. In the bright light of day, this imperial jade pendant nearly generates electricity, so powerful is the attraction of its color and crystalline clarity.
At the very center of the pendant is a round cabochon of perfectly colorless, highly translucent jade that adds a literally indescribable magnificence to the piece. The significantly less rare 35 tiny white little diamonds add some magnificence of their own.
Hand-crafted in 18K white gold, this new pendant is fully articulated with seven "joints" that allow freedom of movement. This magnificent pendant never just hangs around your neck and lays flat. The jade cabochons move, the diamonds beneath them swing back and forth; the pendant as a whole is always in motion, together with you.
From top to bottom, the pendant measures 54mm and is 15mm at its widest point.
Altogether there are 6 jade stones. They range in measurements: 3.75mm x 3.80mm; 7.5mm x 4.20mm; 8.10mm x 3.1mm; to 9.4mm x 3.1mm. The stones are round, pear-shaped and fancy-cut.
This is an exceedingly rare and utterly breathtaking pendant. It is a thing of such profound beauty that it does not seem quite possible; it is more like a wish than a fact. I've held 27 carats of canary-yellow diamonds in my hands and I have used my gemological microscope to peer into the soul of a Kashmir sapphire, and I have even held natural pearls as large as pecans between my fingers. And while all of these gems made my face flush with awe, this jade pendant is a different species of astonishing. You feel the true beauty of it in your soul.
It ships with a certificate from one of Singapore's most reputable gem labs stating that the jade is natural, untreated jadeite (Type A).
