About the Item
A pair of hand-fabricated cufflinks from the 1950s has been transformed into a double-sided pendant. Rendered in 18K yellow gold, each side of the pendant holds a hand-carved and pierced "moss-on snow" colored jadeite jade disk. Each disk features floral carvings and depicts a coin. A simple 18K yellow gold bail was added to complete the pendant.
The jade plaques measure 31mm x 20mm x 1.7mm. The pendant as a whole measures 37.50mm x 20.14. The jade disks are older than their Midcentury mountings as they retain their original and authentic pre-industrial revolution polish. The jade carvings likely date to the 1920s.
This pendant ships with both the 23" chain you see pictured and a certificate from Stone Group Labs stating that the jade is "green / near colorless," untreated, and from Burma (Myanmar).
