About the Item
This 14K yellow gold pendant features an apple-green natural antique jade carving. The carving depicts what I believe to be a blossom; when held sideways. You see, there is a small hole in the very top and the very bottom of the jade carving and at one point, I believe it was set into a mounting horizontally. So now we have a sideways blossom; no matter, it's no less lovely. The translucent jadeite is luminous and displays a lighter and a darker shade of green.
The jade carving itself measures 18.8mm x 14.49mm and the pendant as a while measures 30.27mm x 15.25. The rear of the pendant is a sheet of 14K yellow gold. The bail is marked 585 and 14K and features what U believe is a maker's mark that I cannot quite read. The jade carving is somewhat older than the mounting: I would date the jade to approximately 1920 or a little earlier and the gold mounting to the 1940s or 1950s.
The pendant ships with the delicate 14K chain you see pictured. The pendant also ships with a certificate from Stone Group Labs stating that the jade is untreated jadeite from Burma (Myanmar).
