This pretty pendant features an antique, mother-of-pearl Chinese gambling counter dating back to the 18th Century. The round gaming counter is set in a striking blackened silver setting that is accented with an 18k yellow gold rivet and bail. This design is so versatile and wearable with casual or dressy attire! Originally carved in China for export to Britain, gaming counters were used like we would use poker chips. Each was engraved by hand with exquisite detail; different sizes and shapes were made to represent different denominations. These are original counters that we have made into an elegant line of jewelry we call our "Eastern Gates Collection." Each gaming counter is original and unique. The designs in this collection were inspired by the architecture of ancient China; each gaming counter is set in hand-engraved 18k yellow gold with brightly polished silver (and/or blackened silver).
