About the Item
This exquisite Victorian heart-shaped pendant is a captivating symbol from the Romantic era (c. 1860–1880). In superb condition, it is crafted from banded sardonyx, and adorned with a central starburst of natural split pearls.
An intricate black enamel frame, elegantly accented with eight additional natural split pearls, enhances the pendant’s delicate beauty. The gold beaded border and matching bale complete its refined design.
The reverse side features a heart-shaped glazed locket compartment containing plaited hair—a sentimental detail that can be removed if desired. This remarkable piece comes in its original fitted leather case, signed by the retailer:Ortner
