The necklace, from the second half of the 19th century, features a cross-shaped pendant featuring five fancy-cut amethysts set within a 14-karat yellow gold setting, whose prongs contribute to give an extremely delicate and refined decorative effect. The pendant, moreover, is enriched by the presence of eight tiny natural pearls placed at the ends and at the joint points of the arms of the cross. The necklace is completed by an original gold chain stamped with the manufacturer's mark, featuring a lily inserted into a lozenge. The chain also allows length adjustment thanks to the presence of additional links that can be easily inserted, allowing the necklace to be increased from approximately 37 to 42 centimetres in length. In the end, the necklace is preserved in its original case, which can be attribute to the jeweller of the Royal Court Wilm in Berlin.
