About the Item
Eytan Brandes made this 18 karat white gold pendant for a client several years ago, but with diamonds and sapphires. He liked the design so much he made another one, this time all in diamonds.
The outer oval is set with 87 diamonds in three rows over its rounded surface. The inner lozenge, with 49 stones on each side, spins on an axis allowing the wearer to present all white diamonds or a more contemporary black/white look.
The nicely integrated bale is set with another 7 stones.
The pendant measures 11/16" wide x 1" long (including the bale) x 3/16" thick. The bale is marked "18K" and "E" for Eytan Brandes.
The weight of the pendant is 6.9 grams, of which about 0.4 grams (1.99 carats) can be attributed to the diamonds, broken down as follows:
White diamonds: 143 stones = 1.50 carats
Black diamonds: 49 stones = 0.49 carats
All of the diamonds are hand-set pavé, earth-mined and good quality. Our supplier rates the white diamonds G-H color and VS1-2 quality. Black diamonds are, pretty much, a black or white proposition (sorry) and are not generally rated.
The black diamond bead chain is 16 inches long and the beads are slightly graduated (from 1.9mm at the ends to 2.3mm in the center). The total weight of the diamond beads is 16.7 carats. The necklace weighs 3.8 grams without the pendant (10.7 grams with it). The closure is a 14 karat white gold marquise clip. Note that the necklace through the bale so you can mix and match.
