This is a stunning antique Victorian - Edwardian Peridot and Rose Cut Diamond Lavaliere Pendant Necklace in Platinum atop 14 Karat Gold. The lavaliere is centered by a gorgeous 2 Carat emerald cut peridot. The color of this gem is just divine and it has wonderful sparkle and presence. The peridot is set with sparkling Rose Cut Diamonds of great beauty in a gorgeous Platinum openwork leaf motif in beaded milgrain borders. This is surrounded by a 14 Karat Gold design with beaded borders. The combination of the vivid green of the emerald cut peridot with the sparkling white rose cut diamonds in platinum and the yellow gold is magical. The jewel is a masterpiece of design and construction and a testament to the extraordinary artisans of the period.
This original Victorian/Edwardian pendant dates to circa 1900-1910.
Peridot was the favorite gem during the Edwardian era (1901–1910) because King Edward VII himself declared it his favorite gemstone. This led to a surge in its popularity, and it was frequently incorporated into jewelry designs by various artistic movements of the time, including the Edwardian style.
The pendant is a treasure to wear and to be passed on for generations.

This is a rare museum quality early Rose Cut Diamond Pendant dating to the Georgian Era set with an abundance of antique Rose Cut Diamonds set in silver atop 14 Karat gold as was the custom of the period. The pendant of great beauty and dating to the 1700s.
Diamonds were all the rage in the Georgian period and this is a wonderful example. Early pieces such as this are extremely difficult to find. This one is so immensely wearable as the size is just perfect for wearing either day or night. It has stunning period character and style.
The pendant is 68 mm (2 3/4 inches) long from the top of the bale to the bottom of the pendant. Without the bale it is 58 mm long. It is 45 mm (1 3/4 inches) wide at the widest point.
The rose cut diamonds are set in silver collets atop 14 Karat gold.
The gold bale is a later addition.
There has been some restoration of the pendant as is visible from the back - this is very typical of the early Georgian jewels...
