About the Item
This is an exceptional and very rare Edwardian to Art Deco Necklace set with Pink and Green Tourmaline Gems of Great Beauty with Old European Cut Diamonds in a Platinum Pendant on a Platinum chain. The combination of the pink and green tourmalines, the radiant diamonds, and the very elegant and minimalist design in Platinum make this one of the most appealing period necklaces we have seen. Dating to circa 1910.
The pendant is set with two round faceted Pink Tourmalines of 1.1 and 2 Carats and a central round faceted 9mm Green Tourmaline of 2.25 Carats. These tourmalines are gorgeous with vivid colors and light. The tourmaline gems are eye clean. There are 5 Old European Cut Diamonds. The jewels are all set in beaded milgrain borders. Platinum knife edge links lead from one gem to the next. The chain is a fetter-link chain in Platinum.
The Platinum necklace is 15 inches (38 cm) long. The pendant portion is 1 3/4 inches (42 mm) long.
