About the Item

A stunning celestial pin/pendant from the Victorian (ca1880s) era by jeweler, R. Stewart! Crafted in vibrant 18k yellow gold and sterling silver, this crescent-shaped pin/pendant is encrusted with 4.35ctw of both old mine cut and rose cut diamonds. The prong-set diamonds are wonderfully faceted, and catch the light beautifully with every turn. In addition to ranging in cut, the diamonds vary slightly in color and clarity. The majority of the diamonds display H/J color and VS1-SI1 clarity. The largest diamond, which has a carat weight of .65ct, displays J color and VS2 clarity. Another diamond, which has a carat weight of .40ct, displays K color and VS2 clarity. A final, slightly different diamond, which has a carat weight of .20ct, displays O color and I1 clarity. The back of the pin/pendant features both a pin clasp and a hidden bail, which would allow the crescent to easily attach to a favorite gold chain. The pin/pendant is accompanied by its original "R. Stewart Glasgow" leather box. A one-in-a-million pin/pendant, this piece would make an extraordinary addition to any Victorian-era jewelry collection! Measurements: The diamond crescent has a width of just under 1 1/4" and a height of 1 1/8". Condition: The pin/pendant is in excellent condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting. All of the diamonds are intact and securely set. Both the pin clasp and hidden bail are securely attached and in working order.
