Indulge in an absolutely fantastic Aztec Bird Pendant and Ancient Bead Necklace guaranteed to be from the estate of the legendary Raquel Welch! The magnificent jewel features an antique pendant in the form of a bird which I believe is an Aztec depiction. The wonderful bird is in a stylized heart design. The bird hangs from a beaded necklace of ancient faience beads with two gilt adorned beads with Aztec style decoration. The necklace was obtained directly from the auction of Raquel Welch's jewels and is pictured in the auction catalogue.
Here is your opportunity to own a piece of Hollywood History from one of the most iconic sex symbols of the 20th Century. The necklace is perfectly wonderful and captures the magic and sensuality of the one and only Raquel Welch. Raquel loved this necklace and wore it often.
Raquel's style was a natural easy blend of the dramatic and glamorous along with the earthy and classic. Her jewels exemplify a wonderful combination of these elements of her personality and aura. Wear them with pure joy as they celebrate the legend of a magnificent artist.
Raquel Welch (1940 – 2023) first gained attention for her roles in Fantastic Voyage (1966), and One Million Years B.C. (1966). Although Welch had only three lines of dialogue in the film, images of her in the doe-skin bikini became bestselling posters that turned her into an international sex symbol. Through her portrayal of strong female characters, helping her break the mold of the traditional sex symbol, Welch developed a unique film persona that made her an icon of the 1960s and 1970s. Her rise to stardom in the mid-1960s was partly credited with ending Hollywood's vigorous promotion of the blonde bombshell. Her love scene with Jim Brown in 100 Rifles also made cinematic history with their portrayal of interracial intimacy. She won a Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture Actress in a Musical or Comedy in 1974 for The Three Musketeers. Playboy ranked Welch No. 3 on their "100 Sexiest Stars of the Twentieth Century" list.
The necklace is 15.5 inches long. The ancient beads are 5-9mm in diameter.
The bird motif pendant is 1 3/4 inches (45mm) tall and is 1 inch wide.
The clasp is gilt.

This is a fantastic, antique SANTO DOMINGO Kewa Pueblo necklace. The piece is very rare and special as it is made with a Petrified Shell pendant instead of the typical shell. This piece consists of a large petrified shell pendant which is inlaid with turquoise, white shell, and black onyx. The pendant hangs from a necklace of graduated, thin, turquoise disk-shaped and what I believe are clay or further petrified material, Heishi beads.
The pendant measures approximately 2 inches tall by 1 3/4 inches wide.
The necklace portion is 25 inches long.
The wonderful necklace would be a fine addition to a collection of Native American or southwest jewelry.
