About the Item
This is a beautiful pendant of a flawless red Sardinian coral branch. The coral is very smoothly polished with discolored or pitted areas. Gem quality not often found today.
The branch is accented with five lustrous white 5.5mm pearls on gold thick 14kt. gold head pins.
The coral branch is mounted on a solid 14kt. gold conforming plate. The large ball is designed with a lever mechanism.
From the quality of the coral and the workmanship I think this must date from the 1960’s-1970’s. Possibly Italian. The bail is a replacement.
