About the Item
A gorgeous Riker Bros locket from the Art Nouveau (ca1910s) era! Crafted in 14k yellow gold, the front surface of this circular locket features the repoussé portrait of a beautiful woman. The woman is depicted with long flowing hair, and is adorned with a floral crown. Additionally, she is depicted in flowing garments and is picking blooming flowers. Two of the flowers, one within the woman's crown and one stemmed flower, feature a central bead-set diamond. The two small diamonds have an approximate total carat weight of .12ctw and are both mine cuts. The backside of the locket features a black enameled blooming flower-motif, and the remainder is decorated with a small "polka dot" design. The side of the locket features a discreet latch, which allows the piece to open and close. The inside of the piece features a glass panel, which would allow the wearer to store a favorite photograph or memento. The top of the locket features a complimentary bail, which would allow the locket to easily attach to a favorite gold chain. The inside of the locket is marked with a "14K" purity mark and the Riker Bros signature. A feminine and romantic piece, this locket would make a wonderful addition to any Art Nouveau-era jewelry collection!
Measurements: The locket has a diameter of 1 3/8" and a height of 1 3/4" (including the bail).
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. There is no damage to the gold setting or repoussé details, and the diamond is secure and intact. The bail is secure and intact, and the locket opens and closes securely.
