About the Item

Its devotional pinjante votive offering which origin is Spanish, of Canarian manufacture. The piece represents a salamander crafted in solid gold, richly adorned with emeralds, rubies, various colored enamels, and pearls. The body of the reptile is covered in trasflor green enamel, while details such as the eyes and claws stand out with white and red enamels. In total, the piece features 16 Colombian cabochon-cut emeralds. One of them, located on the animal’s back, is larger and oval-shaped, while the rest are mostly circular, except for one shaped like a teardrop. The shoulders of the reptile are embellished with oval cabochon-cut rubies, further enhancing the sophistication of the design. The pearls, which hang from both the salamander’s torso and the triangular structure of the pendant, are baroque freshwater pearls with irregular shapes. These are attached with gold wires, adding a subtle movement that brings dynamism to the piece. The design also includes original chains connecting the reptile’s torso to the triangular pendant. These chains are composed of links adorned with rhomboidal elements, each featuring a cabochon-cut emerald on its front, set on a rounded base with enamel. The triangular pendant, which completes the design, is decorated with a central emerald surrounded by small ovals enameled in red tones, along with four green details arranged to resemble a decorative flower.
