About the Item
A striking signed work by Natan, the esteemed coral carving atelier of Torre del Greco, renowned as the historic center of Mediterranean coral craftsmanship.
This pendant features a finely carved Sardinian red coral cameo depicting two classical figures in profile, executed with the soft modeling, high relief depth, and expressive facial detail characteristic of the Natan hand. The coral displays an excellent saturated vermilion tone, with even color throughout.
The cameo is framed in a sculptural 18K yellow gold openwork bezel with a subtly hammered texture. The bail is set with nine round brilliant diamonds (approx. 0.15 carat total) adding a refined touch of sparkle without detracting from the artistry of the carving. The coral is signed Natan along the lower edge, and the bail is stamped 750 and NATAN.
A symbolic piece often associated with duality, union, sisterhood, and the Gemini archetype, this pendant wears beautifully on both shorter chains and elongated drop chains.
