About the Item
This smart, sinewy new pendant by Eytan Brandes is actually a very clever re-use of a vintage (circa 1960's) diamond leaf brooch. The "spike" was the center vein of the leaf, but he removed it, added a bale at one end and an extremely gorgeous Tahitian pearl at the other.

The diamonds are all marquises and narrow straight baguettes.
The eight marquise diamonds are brilliant cut, with good clarity and color. Eytan rates them G-H
VS2 to SI1. We estimate their weight at somewhere between 1.20 and 1.40 carats.
The thirteen baguettes are amazing -- each one has been carefully chosen to create a line that not only curves side-to-side but also up and down. This technically difficult channel setting has been reinforced for a couple of the stones which have tiny Russian-style extruded prongs that can barely be seen with the naked eye. You don't see this kind of work anymore! Eytan rates the baguettes G-H color and VS1-2 clarity. We estimate their weight at 0.60 carats.
The total diamond weight of all 21 stones is estimated to be between 1.80 and 2.00 carats.
These stones are all natural (i.e., earth-mined) and untreated diamonds.
The drop-shaped pearl is a stunner. At 10.4mm, it's not large by Tahitian standards, but it boasts absolutely incredible luster, nearly flawless skin and gorgeous silvery green color with strong pink overtones. This is an exceptional and entirely genuine Tahitian cultured pearl; it has not been dyed, bleached or treated in any way.
To match this pendant's sparkle and sheen, we paired it with a high-polish octagonal snake chain in 14 karat white gold with a lobster clasp. We think it looks great with this pendant, but if you'd rather buy the pendant without the chain (or if you would prefer a different kind of chain), just let us know!
